The Utah Jazz are a professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Established in 1974 as the New Orleans Jazz, the team relocated to Salt Lake City in 1979 and was renamed the Utah Jazz.

Championships: The Jazz have not won an NBA championship. They reached the NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998 but lost both times to the Chicago Bulls.

    In the NBA, each team plays 82 games each season. This includes the following;

    • Four games versus four in-division opponents (16 games)
    • Four games versus each of six out-of-division opponents (24 games)
    • Three games each versus the remaining four out-of-division opponents (12 games). The four out-of-division opponents that are played three times each are determined by a five-year rotation.
    • Two games versus each of the 15 teams in the opposite conference (30 games).
