The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is a professional women’s basketball league in the United States. Founded in 1996 and commencing play in 1997, the WNBA features 12 teams that compete in a regular season followed by playoffs. The league is known for its high level of competition and has showcased many of the top female basketball players in the world. The WNBA promotes women’s sports and provides a platform for athletes to excel in basketball while also engaging in community and social initiatives. The league has gained popularity over the years and has become a significant part of the sports landscape.
