The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team based in Brooklyn, New York. Originally founded in 1967 as the New Jersey Americans, the team became the New Jersey Nets before relocating to Brooklyn in 2012. The Nets have yet to win an NBA championship, but they have made several playoff appearances and reached the NBA Finals twice, in 2002 and 2003.
The team plays its home games at the Barclays Center, a modern arena located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. The Nets are known for their black-and-white color scheme and their strong presence in the New York City sports landscape.
