Founded in 1961 as the Chicago Packers, the team was renamed the Chicago Zephyrs and then moved to Baltimore in 1963, becoming the Baltimore Bullets. They relocated to Washington, D.C., in 1968 and were known as the Washington Bullets until 1997, when they adopted the name Washington Wizards.
