The Washington Wizards are a professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1961 as the Chicago Packers, the team was renamed the Chicago Zephyrs and then moved to Baltimore in 1963, becoming the Baltimore Bullets. They relocated to Washington, D.C., in 1968 and were known as the Washington Bullets until 1997, when they adopted the name Washington Wizards.

Championships: The Wizards have won one NBA championship, in 1978, when they were still known as the Bullets.

Arena: The team plays its home games at Capital One Arena, located in downtown Washington, D.C. The arena is shared with the NHL’s Washington Capitals and is a central venue for sports and entertainment in the city.

    • Two games versus each of the 15 teams in the opposite conference (30 games).
